Premium Crystal Gel Wax G-101

Cera Master® Premium Crystal Gel G-101 is a specialized transparent material designed for the production of container candles. It is a thermoplastic gel composed of highly refined, high-purity mineral oils and specific polymeric resins (precisely selected block copolymers). Containing no natural wax esters, it is classified as a synthetic alternative medium, engineered for high-end decorative and scented candles.

With Cera Master® Premium Crystal Gel, you can achieve 100% optical clarity, provided the material is subjected to the correct thermal treatment. Its refractive index ensures that embedded elements remain fully visible without any color distortion.
The wax can incorporate fragrance compositions at a load of up to 6% of the total weight, while maintaining the stability of the gel structure and avoiding the risk of syneresis (the "sweating" or seeping of oil onto the surface).

Cera Master® Premium Crystal Gel G-101 falls into the "Medium Density" category: a standard-grade product for general use that offers an excellent balance between fragrance retention and firmness.

Proper handling of this gel wax requires strict adherence to specific temperature ranges to prevent polymer degradation:

  •   - The optimal melting range is 95°C – 105°C. The maximum critical temperature is 110°C. Exceeding this limit can lead to irreversible yellowing, thermal degradation of the polymer, and a risk of spontaneous combustion.
  •   - Indirect heating is recommended (e.g., a water bath with a thermostat or professional melting equipment with controlled heating). Direct flames or high-intensity heating elements can cause localized overheating of the material.
  •   - For crystal-clear transparency: Pour the wax at a temperature of approximately 100°C into preheated glass containers (heated to about 50°C–60°C). It should be done slowly, along the side of the container, to avoid trapping air.
  •   - For a textured effect (bubbles): Mechanical stirring is performed immediately before pouring at a lower temperature (around 90°C), which traps air within the rapidly solidifying matrix.

Professional execution requires the precise selection of supplies, as the gel is highly sensitive to the chemical composition of additives:

  •   - Fragrances: Only non-polar fragrance oils with a flash point above 75°C–80°C should be used. Oils with a lower flash point or those containing alcohol-based solvents compromise candle safety and can cause the gel to become cloudy.
  •   - Colorants: Specialized liquid pigments designed for gel (oil-soluble) must be used. Standard powdered dyes or aniline dyes intended for paraffin or soy wax often result in cloudy sediment or alter the viscosity.
  •   - Wicks: Wicks with a higher heat output are required due to the gel's higher melting point. Suitable options include cotton wicks with a zinc core or specialized rigid wicks designed for gel, which maintain their vertical stability within the molten gel wax.

Embedding objects into gel candles requires an expert risk assessment. All included elements must be 100% non-flammable and chemically inert (e.g., treated glass, natural sea stones, ceramics, seashells free of organic residue, etc.). If decorative elements capable of absorbing oil (such as dried flowers or cinnamon) are used, they must be placed outside the combustion zone—along the periphery of the container—or encapsulated beforehand to prevent them from acting as additional wicks while the candle burns.
